Dear Members and Friends of The River,

Several members from our Leadership Team and church staff continue to meet weekly (via video chat) to pray and to discern our response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The newest recommendation from government officials suggest a maximum sized gathering of ten people and St. Louis County has just enacted a 'stay at home' order effective today, March 23, 2020. This situation continues to be very fluid and our response to the COVID-19 pandemic also continues to change. Here are some important updates regarding the ministries @ The River at Eureka:

-We will be gathering online only for Sunday morning worship services through April 19th. We invite you join your church family at 9:45 am on Sunday mornings through our Facebook Live broadcast. The services are also available 24/7 after the live broadcast on our website, mobile app, and Facebook page.

-We have paused ALL group gatherings at the church through April 22. This includes our youth and children's ministry, Celebrate Recovery, Scout groups, Sunday School classes, Life Groups, Small Group Bible studies, and other organizations that normally utilize the church building for their group gatherings. Please contact your group leader(s) about gathering remotely via Facetime, Messenger, Zoom, or another video platform.

-Our church staff will continue to maintain flexible office hours during this time. We encourage you to please contact the church office at 636-938-6377 before coming into the church building.

-Our Food Pantry will remain open and maintain our normal operating hours of Tuesday and Thursday from 9 am- 11:30 am and Wednesday evenings from 6-8 pm. We have modified our Food Pantry so that families can drive up and remain in their vehicle while one of our volunteers brings their food to them.

This unprecedented time is a powerful reminder that the church is not a building, the church is the people, you and me, connected (even in new and creative ways) as the Body of Christ. I invite you to continue to pray for all of those directly affected by COVID-19, our government and health organization leaders, medical providers, and your church during this very unusual time.

I also invite you to continue your faithful generosity towards the ministries at The River. Although many of our physical gatherings are temporarily paused, we will continue to move forward with amazing ministries that will advance God's Kingdom and bring people into a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ. You can continue to support these ministries by downloading and giving through our mobile app, giving through a link on our website (the-river.church), or by sending your gift to The River at Eureka, PO Box 67, Eureka, MO 63025. If you have questions about setting up your online giving, please contact our web/app master, Lisa Koltun, at media.team@the-river.church

Let's continue to pray for our world, our nation, our state, our community, and our church during this uncertain time. May we all draw closer to God and the certainty of His love and promises.

"Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is [our] refuge, [our] place of safety;
he is [our] God, and [we] trust him.
For he will rescue [us] from every trap
and protect [us] from deadly disease.
He will cover [us] with his feathers.
He will shelter [us] with his wings.
His faithful promises are [our] armor and protection.
Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday."

Psalm 91:1-9 NLT

Grace and peace,
Pastor Tim
