Lead PASTOR
Tim Schulte

About Tim

Tim was born and raised in the St. Louis area. Before entering the ministry, he spent several years as a heavy duty truck mechanic, several years as a mechanic with high end exotic cars, and eventually traded the wrenches for a hammer and owned and operated his own residential construction business for 15 years. Tim began his journey into ministry in 1999 as a youth volunteer and then as a youth director at The River at Eureka in 2008. He answered the call to pastoral ministry in 2010 and completed his seminary studies at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary (Evanston, IL) in July 2017. Tim was appointed as the associate pastor at The River at Eureka in 2012 and began serving as the lead pastor in February 2017.

Tim is also a frequent guest on Total Christian Television (TCT Network) as a panelist on their popular "Ask The Pastor" show.

Favorite things about Eureka

Great community spirit, easy access to amazing hiking and mountain biking trails, skiing at Hidden Valley, and the "everyday wedding cake" at Sarah's Cake Shop.

Family

Sherri, his amazing wife (and high school sweetheart) have been married for over 38 years. They have two wonderful daughters and an awesome son (plus two great sons in law and a delightful daughter in law), and eight beautiful grandchildren.

Favorite activities

Hanging out with family and friends, off-road adventures in his Jeep, mountain biking, hiking, stand up paddle boarding, downhill skiing, fly fishing, and traveling.

Anything still on the bucket list?

Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, conquering the Rubicon trail in the Jeep, downhill skiing somewhere in the US in May, September, and October; all of the other months have already been checked off of the bucket list!

Richelle VanderVeen

ABOUT Richelle

Hi! I’m Richelle VanderVeen, and I’m so grateful to serve as the Family Ministry Director at The River at Eureka, leading both XStream Kids (Pre-K–5th) and RAPIDS Youth (6th–12th). My husband Randy and I moved to Eureka in 2024 and began attending The River within our first month here. From the moment we joined, this church has truly felt like home.

Faith, family, and serving others are at the heart of who we are. Randy and I love being involved at The River and in the Eureka community, and I feel incredibly blessed to pour into the next generation through ministry. My heart is to create a space where kids and students feel seen, known, encouraged, and challenged to grow in their relationship with Christ.

Randy and I have two amazing kids, Braxton (a senior) and Mila (a sophomore), and life is full of sports, school activities, church, and community involvement. Alongside ministry, I help run our family businesses, Randy’s Lawn and Property and Frontier Hippie Bakery.

At home, life is full in the best way. We have two cats, Jay and Zeus, and a dog named Moses, and as a family we love spending time outdoors, traveling, and making memories together whenever we can.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve in this role and to help lead the next generation as they grow in faith, build lasting relationships, and discover the purpose God has for their lives. My prayer is that every child and student who walks through our doors would know they are deeply loved by God and called to live boldly for Him.

“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done.” — Psalm 78:4
