EUMC News! (Nov 16th, 2018)

We welcomed 27 Scouts and their parents to Eureka UMC on Tuesday night. None of these families are members of Eureka UMC. They all

came to learn about P.R.A.Y., a wonderful faith based program offered to Scouts. The program has several age specific components. Pastor Suzanne and I have each agreed to lead one of the P.R.A.Y. groups over the next few months. These children and their families will be recognized for their completion of this program during our worship services on Scout Sunday on February 17th.

After the meeting, we began a conversation with a mom and her daughter. Her daughter was the only girl scout who will be participating in this program. We talked for a few minutes and then the mom said, "I have something I'd like to share with you." She continued, "we just received the Eagle Lake Camp e mail this week. We will be registering for the camp again. My daughter has attended the camp for the past three years. It has changed her life. She came home from the first year of camp and told me that she loved Jesus, decided to trust him as her Lord and Savior, and desired to give her life to him. Just a few weeks ago, my daughter also wants to be baptized."

As Suzanne and I listened we were amazed at what God has been doing in this girl's life and could also see tears welling up in the mom's eyes.

She looked at us and said, "thank you. It is because of this church that my daughter knows and loves Jesus."

What we do matters. What you do matters. On behalf of the mom and daughter, I thank you for your faithfulness in serving and supporting God's work through Eureka UMC!

Grace and peace,
Pastor Tim

power of holy spirit.jpg

The Holy Spirit is, for most of us, the most mysterious and least understood person of the Trinity. We invite you to join us on Sunday mornings in November as we embark on a journey to discover more about the Holy Spirit revealed to us through God's Word. This is going to be an amazing journey!

We invite you to join us on Sunday as we continue our journey of discovering who the Holy Spirit is. Pastor Tim's sermon, "Greater", will be drawn from John 15:26-27. On Sunday, we will consider the greater work that the Holy Spirit wants to do in point others towards Jesus.

We gather for two distinct expressions of worship on Sunday mornings at our 8:30 am and 9:45 am worship services

Our JAM (Jesus and Me) Children's Ministry meets at 9:45 am for children ages 3 years old through the fifth grade.

Childcare is available for children birth through 2 years old in our nursery during both worship service times on Sunday mornings

During November, we will explore the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

November 25, "Under the Influence" Pastor Suzanne preaching

prayer is the key.jpg

Celebrate Recovery Prayer Team--The Vision team thanks all of you who joined the prayer team as we began our journey of developing God's unique vision for EUMC. We all grew closer to God as a result of your prayers and truly listened with ears to hear God's voice. The Celebrate Recovery leadership team is asking for you to cover our work in prayer as we reach into our community to help those suffering from hurts, hangups, or habits. We are quite clear that this task is way beyond us and requires God to be in it with us. Please contact or 314 749 3874 if you'd like to receive weekly prayer points for the next 40 days as we focus on being the externally focused church that God envisions.

Want to make Christmas brighter for families who are struggling? Some parents have to make the choice to buy food or pay the rent.  So Christmas gifts for their children are even further down the list or simply wishful thinking.  Help bring some joy to families serviced by the St. Louis Crisis Nursery, many of which are having extreme difficulty meeting the basic needs of their children.

Grab a gift tag off the Christmas Giving Tree located in the Commons areas at EUMC.   UNWRAPPED gifts should be placed under the tree by Sunday, December 9th.

Registration now open for Confirmation 2019. If you have a youth in grades 6-12, and you would like to register them for Confirmation, you may do so at Classes will begin in October and take place during the 9:45 service on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of the month.  Confirmation will take place in April 2019.  Contact for more info.
