Let's be honest, you've probably heard or read something that's in the Bible and thought to yourself, "that's weird." You may even begin to wonder why this seemingly weird story is even part of God's Word. This begs the question, "why is this weird stuff in the Bible anyway? What does it mean? How can this possibly speak to my life in 2018?"
We invite you and your family to join us on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13th as we honor God, remember our moms, and consider the plight of an unnamed mom in the Bible from 2 Kings 4:1-7. God used a single jar of olive oil to save her family; weird stuff! Our Director of Family Ministries, Jenny Babb (who is also a mom), will be preaching during both worship services this Sunday.
We gather for two unique expressions of worship on Sunday mornings; we invite you and your family to join us at either one of these worship services
8:30 am Traditional Service:
#92 For the Beauty of the Earth
#348 Softly and Tenderly
#377 It Is Well With My Soul
9:45 am Contemporary Service (and Live Stream on Facebook Live)
Your Grace is Enough
From the Inside Out
Your Love is Strong
My Savior Lives
Our JAM (Jesus and Me) Children's Ministry meets at 9:45 am for children ages 3 years old through the fifth grade.
Childcare is available for children birth through 2 years old in our nursery during both worship service times on Sunday mornings.
Weird Stuff in the Bible!
This compelling series will explore four unique...actually weird stories found in the Bible and consider how this 'weird stuff' applies to our lives today as we seek to grow deeper in our faith and relationship with God.

June 10 Why?
June 17 Who?
June 24 How?
Did you know that there are 60 students at Eureka Elementary School that receive free or reduced lunches? We were surprised to learn about this and developed a new partnership with Eureka Elementary School to help meet the needs of these students. We recently delivered over 1800 servings of breakfast foods and lunch snacks to Eureka Elementary School to help bridge the gap to the end of the school year so that these amazing students can receive the food that their bodies require to do well in school. As a friend or a member of Eureka UMC, you are part of this important ministry into our local schools! Your faithful and generous support towards Eureka UMC will ensure that this ministry, along with many other life changing ministries, will continue to have a positive impact in our community, all to God's glory!
Did you know that you can give to the life changing ministries of Eureka UMC through your smartphone? We recently launched our new SubSplash giving platform through our mobile app. It takes less than two minutes to set up an account through the mobile app and from there giving is simple! You can set up a recurring gift (i.e. weekly or monthly) and also make 'one time' gifts with a simple click on your smart device. Your continued, generous financial support of the ministries at Eureka UMC is greatly appreciated, is making a difference, and will allow us to fuel our Mission of 'making new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.'
We will be honoring our graduating High School Seniors on Sunday, May 20th during our 9:45 service. Seniors and their families are also invited to a complimentary lunch afterwards at Poor Richards. If you could let us know how many in your family will join us that would be helpful! Lunch will begin at 11:30 am.
If you are a parent of a graduating senior and would like more information, please contact Jenny Babb at firstname.lastname@example.org
Upcoming opportunities to Connect, Grow, or Serve through EUMC
Hello Potential Missioners,
Just a reminder that Saturday, May 12th is the second Saturday of the month and that means it is time for another day of serving others by being the hands and feet of God.
Note that we recently marked the one anniversary of the April 2017 flood and there are still unmet needs in our community.
We will be helping Larry R. install a kitchen in his flood damaged home along the big river in Haney Springs off of Hwy W. Larry’s home was repaired after the 2015 flood only to be damaged again in the 2017 flood. Larry works but injured his knee and can’t work more lucrative construction jobs anymore. Larry hesitates to ask for help because in his words “there are others worse off than me”
Here is an outline of our to do list at Larry’s:
-hang drywall in kitchen
- set base cabinets
- install counter tops
- hang wall cabinets
- hook up sink
At Laurel Acres (additional work possibility):
- apply final exterior coat of paint to Vickie's storage shed (trailer next to the lagoon).
Chris Hosely will be working with us and directing the work.
I will be bring as many tools as I can think of that will be necessary for the work .
Let me know if you can make it. We are grateful for whatever time you can spend.
Meet at Larry R’s at 8:30 AM Saturday, 12 May.

We have partnered with the Missouri Conference who will be bringing in some BIG TOYS, including a massive inflatable obstacle course! This is a great outreach to our community and we welcome your assistance to ensure that this is the best Kid's Corner we can offer! Interested in being part of the Block Party Team?
