“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” – Chinese Proverb
We are in an exciting season of ministry at Eureka UMC! We have some amazing teams of people who are 'planting trees' in new areas of ministry!
Congregational Care Ministry (CCM) Team: A core group from this newly formed team just returned from a three day CCM conference in Kansas City. This team will be developing a wonderful system of congregational care for the friends and members of Eureka UMC. This team will be meeting on Monday to debrief from the CCM conference and to begin developing this new system of congregational care.
Vision Team: This newly formed team is comprised of a wonderful cross section of younger and older, newer and long time members of our congregation. This team has been charged with discerning the unique, God given and God sized vision for Eureka UMC. This vision will determine how we will achieve our Mission of "making new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world" in 2018 and beyond. The Vision Team began meeting in March, will meet again tonight (Thursday), and will continue meeting throughout 2018 as they seek God's wisdom around His vision for us.
Celebrate Recovery: Another newly formed team will be launching a Celebrate Recovery ministry at Eureka UMC later this year. The core group from this team will be attending a one day Celebrate Recovery training and seminar in a few weeks in Lansing, MI. The vision for this recovery ministry was planted nearly two years ago and we are taking the steps to launch this wonderful recovery ministry in the Fall of 2018. Please visit www.celebraterecovery.com to learn more about this life transforming ministry now offered through more than 30,000 churches.
These teams are doing some amazing things to advance the Kingdom of God and to see lives transformed through the redeeming power of Jesus Christ and the restorative work of the Holy Spirit. We invite you to continually lift these teams in prayer as they seek God's wisdom and discernment in these new areas of ministry.
Did you know that you can give to the life changing ministries of Eureka UMC through your smartphone? We recently launched our new SubSplash giving platform through our mobile app. It takes less than two minutes to set up an account through the mobile app and from there giving is simple! You can set up a recurring gift (i.e. weekly or monthly) and also make 'one time' gifts with a simple click on your smart device. Your continued, generous financial support of the ministries at Eureka UMC is greatly appreciated, is making a difference, and will allow us to fuel our Mission of 'making new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.'

Will you join us in prayer?
One of the most important ways you can support EUMC right now is to circle the work of the Vision Team in prayer. Our first challenge is determining how we will grow spiritual disciples intent on continuing to strengthen their relationship with Christ.
- We desire to honor the past while stepping into the future and not leaving a single soul behind.
- We desire to SEND disciples into the community, not simply collect disciples.
- We are clear on our mission of making disciples for the transformation of the world, but we need God's direction on HOW to do this well.
Haven't you desired the knowledge it takes to be a better disciple? This is what the vision team will be grappling with over the next few months and we're asking you to saturate our work in some intentional corporate prayer.
The purpose of prayer is to get into God's presence so HE can outline His VISION for us. How? By setting aside a few minutes each day for 40 days April 2-May 12. Contact email@example.com or 314 749 3874 if you'd like to receive weekly prayer/praise requests re: vision team over the next 40 days.
