EUMC News! (Mar 10th, 2018)

Why are we posting a photo of the number three hundred fourteen?

This past Sunday, we welcomed THREE HUNDRED FOURTEEN persons to our worship services! This included 83 people at the 8:30 am service and 231 at the 9:45 am service. This is the highest Sunday morning worship attendance we have experienced in years with the exception of special worship services like Christmas Eve and Easter. We also set a new attendance record in our JAM Children's Ministry with a total of 53 in attendance.

As we continue to grow and to welcome new families, please continue to extend radical hospitality by introducing yourself to people that you don't know, introducing them to someone that you do know, sitting near the front of the sanctuary, moving to the center of the pews, and (as you are able) parking in the furthest parking spots.

This is indeed an exciting time at Eureka UMC! We praise God for leading these new families to our church and commend our amazing staff, our gifted and talented team leaders, and our awesome volunteers to their dedication to our (the) Mission of 'making new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world."

We are adding another worship service on Easter!

Easter is the highest attended Sunday at Eureka UMC and in churches around the world. In order to ensure that we have enough space for our members and new guests, we are adding an Easter Sunrise Service at 7:00 am. Here is a complete listing our Easter services on Sunday, April 1, 2018:

7:00 am Easter Sunrise "Family" Service: This service will include modern Christian music led by our Praise Team. Jenny Babb will offer a special "Children's Moment" during the service. Pastor Tim will share the message, "Resurrection", from Mark 16:1-8

8:30 am Easter "Traditions" Service:  This service will include traditional Christian hymns led by our Chancel Choir. Jenny Babb will offer a special "Children's Moment" during the service. Pastor Tim will share the message, "Resurrection", from Mark 16:1-8

9:45 am Easter "Family" Service:  This service will include modern Christian music led by our Praise Team. Jenny Babb will offer a special "Children's Moment" during the service. Pastor Tim will share the message, "Resurrection", from Mark 16:1-8

9:45 am Easter "Family" Service Live Stream: Our 9:45 am service will be streaming live through our Facebook page via Facebook Live. If you will be travelling, be sure to join us online and 'comment' where you are joining us from!

We encourage families that normally attend the 9:45 am service to consider attending the 7:00 am Easter Sunrise "Family" Service on April 1st. This will provide additional space for our new families and guests to join us at the 9:45 am service. Also, please consider attending the 7:00 am service and serving at the 9:45 am service.

If you knew that you had just one week left to live, how would that shape your actions? How would you spend your time? With whom would you spend your time?

We will be exploring The Last Week of Jesus' life during Lent. We will look closely at his actions, where he went, and with whom he spent time with. We will consider what all of this meant 2,000 years ago and what it means to us today.

The Gospel of Mark will be our guide during this wonderful, day by day journey with Jesus, during this season of Lent. We will continue our Lenten journey this Sunday by exploring the events surrounding the last Wednesday of Jesus' life with a message titled "The Need for a Traitor?" from the 14th chapter of Mark.

We offer three worship experiences on Sundays!

Our 9:45 am worship service includes modern Christian music led by our amazing praise team.

9:45 am Worship songs:

Glorious One
My Savior Lives
Blessed be Your Name
My Savior My God
Your Grace is Enough

If you are travelling or staying at home with sick children, you can join us online at 9:45 am. This service will be streaming live via our Eureka United Methodist Church Facebook page and Facebook Live.

Our 8:30 am worship service includes traditional Christian hymns led by our wonderful choir.

8:30 am hymns:

What Wondrous Love is This
There's Something About That Name
God Be With You

Childcare (birth through 2 years old) is available during both worship services.

Our JAM (Jesus and Me) Children's Ministry, ages 3 years old through the 5th grade, meet each Sunday at 9:45 am

Flood Recovery Update: next mission Sat, April 14.

Hello Potential Missioneers,

Just a reminder that this coming Saturday is the second Saturday of the month and that means it is time for another day of being the hands and feet of God

Sorry I don't have any information right now as to exactly what work we will be doing - how many people we have and their skills tends to determine what we do.

Most likely we will be at Laurel Acres which is off Antire Rd or maybe at a house off of Highway W.

Let me know if you can make it. We are grateful for whatever time you can spend.

I will have a better idea of what work needs to be done on Thursday/Friday and will send out a note to let you know what to plan for and where to meet.

feed my starving children mana pack.png

EUMC pack dates in 2018 will be Wednesday October 10 through Sunday, October 14.

This Lenten season we challenge you to work as a family to save starving children’s lives!

You will be supporting the Feed My Starving Children 2018 MobilePack. Pack #1810-094AU

Feed My Starving Children is a Christian non-profit organization committed to feeding God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children. The meals are shipped to food distribution partners who distribute them to children in greatest need around the world.

For more information please go to

How Your Family Can Help Feed A Hungry Child

1. Place a bowl, jar, or fun container on your kitchen table.

2. At every meal each family member places a quarter in the bowl. Each quarter provides more than one full meal for a child!

3. Continue to do this throughout Lent.

4. At Easter - count your quarters and write a check to Feed My Starving Children Pack #1810-094AU

5. Celebrate the fact that YOU helped save many children’s lives!

6. At $2.00 per day for the 40 days of Lent (total $80) your family will provide enough meals to feed one child for a full year.

Questions about this event may be directed to Patty Stevens at Thank you!

Have a fantastic week and

we look forward to seeing you on Sunday Morning!
