Healthy Church Initiative Updates
We have continued to make wonderful progress towards the prescriptions we accepted as part of the recent HCI!
Hospitality: Our hospitality team has grown to over 50 volunteers, many serving for the very first time. We have implemented many new processes with our hospitality including a wonderful, new text and e mail follow up process for our new guests.
We are forming two new teams to address our next two prescriptions. If you'd like to be considered to be part of one of these teams, please complete the online application on our website or mobile app. There are also paper application forms located at the Welcome Desk. Applications need to be submitted by January 21st The team members will be selected by our HCI Coach, Rev Jon Spalding, and Pastor Tim.
Here are descriptions of the teams:
Congregational Care: The Pastor, in consultation with the Coach, will name a Care Team no later than January 31, 2018. This team will develop a lay-led congregational care system to create a culture of love and support.
Congregational Identity and Unifying Vision: The Pastor and Leadership Team, in consultation with the Coach, will develop a Vision Team by January 31, 2018. This team will be comprised of a cross section of the congregation including members from both worship services. This team will work with the Coach and Roger Ross (Director of Congregational Excellence, Missouri Conference) to develop a visioning process and strategy by June 30, 2018.
We began a new series, RE:SOLUTION, last Sunday and we posed a different question than we may typically ask ourselves as we begin a New Year:
"What breaks your heart?"
If you missed the message from last week, you can view it here: https://tinyurl.com/Dec31Worship
We will continue exploring this question on Sunday with a difficult teaching from Jesus in Luke 14:25-27. Why on earth would Jesus tell us to "hate your mother and father, wife and children, and brothers and sisters"? Is he serious? How can this possibly help us with the question, "What breaks your heart?"
Let's find out together on Sunday!
We offer three worship experiences on Sundays!
Our 9:45 am worship service includes modern Christian music led by our amazing praise team.

Our XP3 Youth (grades 6-12) meet on the second and fourth Sundays of each month.
Question: Do you know any other human being?
If you answered "yes", then the DEEP LOVE sermon series and Bible study is for you! This will be great for singles, dating couples, grandparents, moms, dads, married couples, plumbers...anyone who knows at least one other human being. While much of the content of this series speaks about marriage relationships, the reality is that every relationship in your life will benefit from the wonderful, biblical wisdom and teaching during these four weeks.
We also encourage you to connect with a Life Group during these four weeks to grow deeper in your faith, your relationship with others, and your relationship with Christ. Not sure how to connect to one of our Life Groups? Start here! Simply send an e mail to firstname.lastname@example.org to get connected.
If you are currently leading a LIfe Group or Sunday School class, please send an e mail to email@example.com to learn how your group can also participate in this amazing experience.
All members and friends of Eureka UMC will also have the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive, online relationship assessment This assessment will generate a custom, 10 page report that will help you to identify strengths and weaknesses in your key relationship(s) More information about this assessment will be shared during the sermon series.
Have you been attending our worship services for a few weeks or a few months? Do you want to learn more about connecting at Eureka UMC?
Please join us for "Hot Cocoa With the Pastor" for an informal conversation about the church, our mission, our vision, and your next step for connection.
